A History in Photos 24 (FGK 181)

August 1978. Percy Copithorne in front of the log barn he built when a young man.
Percy and Edna Copithorne and Roy Wills (I zoomed on on the woman and I don’t think she’s grandma. I wonder if she’s Jean – her face shape is the same?)
A hunting party at theRobertsons with Percy Copithorne. Clarence Copithorne on extreme right.
Percy Copithorne on a big rock in California. 1940. Grandma spoke of a trip they took to California in 1940 before mom was born – this must have been it. I love this photo – one time when I was fairly young (under 10) my parents drove us out to Long Beach on Vancouver Island for the day. I also ran out to a big rock to look at the ocean – only suddenly the tide came in and I was stranded out in the middle of the ocean. I was probably on the equivalent of the farther away rocks. Poor dad was trying to stay calm to coach me as to when it was safe to run back but I could tell he was terrified. I made it back safely and was never taken there again haha. Now I can blame genetics.

Percy Copithorne on right with fish he caught
Frank Copithorne, Louis Copithorne, Percy Copithorne, Bill Copithorne. Holding the big fish Percy caught. Now, I remember Grandpa (Percy) being very tall. So the fact that he’s kinda short or average in this photo tells me the other men are REALLY tall. I had no idea Uncle Louis was so tall, although I only have very vague (but awesome) memories of him. Uncle Bill sure looks like Phil don’t you think?

Percy and Edna with the salmon caught near Victoria.
We all know this photo from the Hall – it’s hanging on the stage. Percy on violin, Marjorie on the piano and I can’t remember who the other two are, but I know I’ve had it labeled somewhere else.
